Twenty-seven members of a Yale University fraternity were arrested and deported by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents after two students were observed using a unique handshake that was interpreted as a greeting among gang members.
ICE agents they became suspicious when they observed members of the fraternity, Theta Delta Alpha, greeting each other outside of one of the many bars and nightclubs along New Haven’s Crown Street. The individuals, referred to only as “Chad” and “Brad,” were seen to approach each other before Chad requested to be, “dapped up” according to reports. The duo were then followed back to their fraternity house where the arrest was made.

An ICE agent, speaking on condition of anonymity because of general public disdain for just about everything they do, said they discovered another 25 members of the supposed gang inside the building where they were conducting an initiation of potential new members. This involved excessive drinking and a something referred to as an “elephant walk.”
“Upon further investigation we found they had members, referred to as brothers, who have over the years infiltrated numerous organizations and corporations, including all levels of government,” said the agent. It was also noted that Theta Delta Alphaa shares initials with the notorious transnational crime organization hailing from Venezuala, Tren de Aragua.
“Coincidence?” questioned the agent. “ICE does not believe in coincidences.”
It is believed that all 27 members arrested are U.S citizens, many coming from wealthy families. None, however, were able to provide any evidence on the spot establishing their citizenship status. Agents did not consider driver’s licenses and their parents’ credit cards as verifiable documentation.
The agent noted, “We also do not believe in due process.”
It is, at the time of writing, unclear where the arrested fraternity members are being held and to where they will ultimately be deported. Reliable rumors indicate that their most likely final destination will be somewhere in Greece.
